Buying or selling a house can be one of the biggest decisions you ever make, especially financially. Having the right team behind you means there’s less chance of nasty surprises and things can run smoothly. We provide an efficient but caring service to those seeking to buy or sell a property.

The conveyancing teams at all our offices are highly trained and consist of Solicitors, Chartered Legal Executives and Paralegals. All of whom are accredited members of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme and will deal with your property sale or purchase promptly and efficiently.

Buying and/or selling a property: Conveyancing

You will be assigned a “conveyancer” to assist you with your sale or purchase (or even both). They will be your main point(s) of contact throughout the process. Your conveyancing professional will get to know the property and aid you in keeping up to date with the process along with ensuring it’s completed as quickly as possible.

How long can a conveyance take?

On average, a conveyance will take between ten and twelve weeks for freehold properties. The average for a leasehold property is twelve to sixteen weeks. This is from the issue of the contract from the seller’s solicitors through to moving day. There are however several different factors that can affect this, such as the speed of third-party agencies providing searches, management packs and also the speed of the conveyancer on the other side. A final factor is the agreed moving in day. Your moving day will be decided via negotiation with the other side and may not be your ideal date; this is more common where there is a chain of properties being sold.

If you have any questions about your sale or purchase, please do not hesitate to raise them with your conveyancer. Our team are happy to answer any questions you may have about moving home or the services that we provide.
