WILLS

Given recent events you may be concerned about your health and wish to make a Will. Even if you are self-isolating or working from home due to the “lockdown”, Burtons is equipped to help you.

Whilst we prefer to speak to you in person we can take instructions via email, skype, or telephone. with all remote Will writing, we will need to ensure that our client ID checks are thoroughly completed prior to commencement.

A straight forward Will can be written for you within a week from receipt of signed compliance documentation, in the event of an urgent situation we can write a Will within 24 hours.

CONVEYANCING

If you are due to move house shortly, please contact your conveyancer to arrange a call to discuss this. We have a large number of conveyancing clients and it will help us to schedule calls to ensure that get all the time you need to discuss your matter with your conveyancer.

Guidance on how to proceed is being taken as we speak and is being issued by governing bodies and those in the profession, we will keep you updated with changes and how they may affect you; please bear in mind this is an unprecedented event and the situation may change as time passes.

FAMILY

Our family department continues to function, but we simply ask that where possible face to face meetings are avoided and that matters are dealt with over the telephone as a priority. If you are a new client with concerns about their immediate situation then we will work with you to ensure that your matter is dealt with as quickly as possible and will take into account any personal circumstances where viable.

Please note that at this unprecedented time there may be some delay in your matter being issued, delays in hearings being scheduled and even postponement of existing hearings. We will work with you to try and minimize all delays but some matters are subject to the control of third parties; where this affects you we will let you know as soon as possible of any changes.

PROBATE

Our probate department continues to function, but we simply ask that where possible face to face meetings are avoided and that matters are dealt with over the telephone as a priority. We are equipped to take on new matters and are happy to discuss your potential matter before commencing any instructions.

We will work with you to try and minimize all delays but where matters are subject to the control of third parties and this affects you we will let you know as soon as possible of any changes.

LITIGATION

Our litigation department continues to function, but we simply ask that where possible face to face meetings are avoided and that matters are dealt with over the telephone as a priority. If you are a new client please do not hesitate to contact us, the majority of the early stages can be dealt with remotely and the current situation should cause minimal delay to the commencement of your matter.
